CRJは現在札幌、福岡、東京、関西を含む全国4ヶ所を拠点に活動するカレッジチャートであり、学生中心で進められる音楽の情報発信は、他の音楽チャートとは違った視点から見た選曲であるのが特徴だ。また、各地のランキングの特色が顕著に現れるのも一つの魅力である。
今年の4月には、CRJ関西支部が発足。今後、活動拠点の拡大も検討中である。

CARTHIEFSCHOOLは、2016年末、札幌にて結成された3人組オルタナティブロックバンド。10月28日にリリースされた初の配信限定シングル『油/昭和歌謡大全集』より、『油』が11月19日付札幌チャートで一位に輝いた。
札幌を拠点に活動しながら全国各地のライブイベントにも出演し、各地の音楽フリークから注目を集める彼らは現在まだ20代前半。この先もっと大きくなる蠢きが、色濃くなる衝撃が、日本を呑み込む日もそう遠くない。

熊本の4人組バンド『The Heightz』。
US/UKインディーに影響を受けたサウンドとシンプルな中に暖かみを感じさせるような楽曲が特徴である。
10月に『Mavericks』をSingleリリース、当楽曲は4月にリリースされたライブハウスNAVAROの支援コンピレーションアルバムにも別バージョンが収録されている。

今週のピックアップアーティストは福岡出身のユアネス。
2014年に福岡で結成。変拍子を織り交ぜたテクニカルなバンドアレンジと寄り添うような黒川(Vo)の歌声を組み合わせ、物語のような楽曲を展開している。
今回チャート3位にランクインしたヘリオトロープは今月18日にリリースされたEP「 BE ALL LIE」に収録。
奥行きのあるメロディに寄り添うコーラスと洋楽を彷彿とさせるトーンのフレーズが印象的なミドルバラードに仕上がっている。
楽曲の世界観を描き出したアニメーションMVも公開されているため、ぜひチェックしていただきたい。

【CARTHIEFSCHOOL】
CARTHIEFSCHOOL is a three-member alternative rock band that formed in Sapporo at the end of 2016. From the first limited-edition single “Oil / Showa Kayo Daizenshu” that released on October 28, “Oil” has got the first place on the Sapporo chart on November 19.
While based in Sapporo, they have appeared in live events all over the country and are attracting attention from music freaks in various places. They are still in their early twenties. It won’t be long before the day when the wriggling that grows bigger and the impact that becomes darker swallows all over this country.

【The Heightz】
The Heightz is a four-piece band from Kumamoto.
Their music is characterized by a US/UK indie-influenced sound and warmth in a simple way.
They released a single version of “Mavericks” in October, and another version of the song was included in a compilation album in support of the live house NAVARO, released in April.
The Heightz, with its lilting rhythms, voices and instruments, is sure to have many people falling in love with it.

The pop art of housewives living on the island.
One of the leading artists of the Shibuya-kei music genre.
The word “yawaragi” in “Kimi ni yawaragi” refers to a traditional Shinto art form of the Sado Gold Mine. Look at the lyrics that make you want to go to Kanayama!

【Yourness】
This week’s pickup artist is “Yourness” from Fukuoka.
Since they formed in 2014 in Fukuoka,they combine technical band arrangements with irregular time signatures and the cohesive voice of Kurokawa (vocals) to create songs that are like stories.
“Heliotrope”,which ranked at 3 on the charts this time, is included in the EP “Be All LIE,” released on November 18.
It is an impressive middle ballad with a chorus that accompanies a deep melody and a phrase with a tone reminiscent of recent guitar music like POLYPHIA.
An animation music video depicting the song’s worldview has also been released, so pleasn be sure to check it out.
