『聖なる鹿殺し』
『女王陛下のお気に入り』で有名なヨルゴス・ランティモス監督による作品。タイトルからして変ですが内容はさらに変です。主人公のサイコパス具合がたまらくいいです！！ヨルゴス・ランディモス監督は最近では写真家としても活動しています。

『ジェリーフィッシュ』
エトガル・ケレットとシーラ・ゲフェンというイスラエル人夫婦による映画。海辺の街で交差する人々を描いた静かで優しくもユーモアに溢れた素敵な映画です。ケレットの本職は小説家で小説の方もオススメです。

『ポルト』
僕の師でもあるワイアット・ガーフィールドが撮影監督を務めた映画です。監督はゲイブ・クリンガー。異国の地で出会った男女の過去現在未来を描いた作品です。エロティックかつロマンティックな内容もさることながら8mm 、16mm 、35mmフィルムをそれぞれ織りなして描かれた映像はかなりビューティーです。

『楽日』
台湾のツァイ・ミンリャン監督による作品。閉館を迎える台北の老映画館、福和大戯院の楽日（最終日）にてそこに集まった人々や想いを描いた映画愛溢れる作品です。

『The Staggering Girl 』
『君の名前で僕を呼んで』や『サスペリア』のルカ・グァダニーノ監督による短編映画です。撮影監督は前２作に引き続きサヨムプー・ムックディプローム、衣装はValentinoのデザイナーであるピエールパオロ・ピッチョーリ、音楽は坂本龍一と超豪華チームによる作品です！ 日本未公開なため英語でしか視聴できませんが、35mmフィルムによる映像美や細密に不穏な音楽、麗美な衣装などと十分に楽しめる映画だと思います。

昨年夏には、アメリカ、ユタ州で映画『NINE DAYS』（米２０年公開予定、日本未定）の制作に参加。現在は東京を拠点に活動中。

The KILLING of a SACRED DEER
Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. “The FAVOURITE” is one of his famous movies.
The title is weird but the story is even weirder. The psychopaths behavior of the main character is irresistible. Yorgos Lanthimos is also known as a photographer these days.

JELLYFISH
Directed by Etgar Keret and his wife Shira Geffen. It’s a human story in a seaside town with humorous and kindness. Keret is also known as a novelist and I recommend his novels,too.

PORTO
Directed by Gabe Klinger and my teacher Wyatt Garfield joined as a cinematographer.
It’s a movie about the past, present, and future story of man and woman who met in a foreign country. Besides the erotic and romantic story, the movie is taken by 8mm,16mm,35mm films. It’s epic!!

GOODBYE DRAGON INN
Taiwanese film directed by Tsai Ming-liang about the last screening of the old cinema “film Dragon Inn” before the closure. It’s a movie full of affection of people who got together there.

The Staggering Girl
A short film by Luca Guadagnino, known for “CALL ME BY YOUR NAME” and “Suspiria”
The costume is by Valentino designer Pierpaolo Piccioli. Music by Ryuichi Sakamoto, needless to say it’s a great movie made by a great team. There’s no Japanese voice over, but I’m sure you can enjoy the beauty of the film, the scary and fragile music, and the gorgeous costumes.

Kota Ishida
Born in 1997, based in Tokyo.
Studying to be a cinematographer,he also works as a stills photographer now. Last summer, he participated in the production of the movie “NINE DAYS” (scheduled to be released in the US in 2020, tba in Japan).
