2月23日から3月2日までの1週間、福岡から発信する新しいアートイベントプログラム「the finders 2019」。
2月23日には福岡市科学館 サイエンスホールにてMUSIC LIVE 「you will be found」が開催される。
出演アーティスト3組に、音楽 ×「the finders 2019」× 福岡について語ってもらった。

『the finders 2019』ということで、あなたの最近の音楽での発見を教えてください。
細かいことを数えるといくつもあるような気がします。
一つ挙げるとするなら、例えば曲を作り、それを演奏する場合、その音楽はそれなりにタフで、私が想定していなかったアーティキュレーションにも寄り添うことができるということです。
それに気付いていなかった間はいくつか可能性を無駄にしていたと思います。
最近、福岡の音楽が熱い！ と言われているのですが、どんな福岡と音楽の関係性があるからだと思いますか？
自分自身が福岡で活動してきたので今ひとつピンと来てません。
どういった経緯で福岡に目がついたのか、また熱いと言っている人達が福岡の内か外か、もしくは両方なのか、気になるところです。

新しいアートイベントプログラムに出演させていただけることを光栄に思います。
『the finders 2019』というタイトルに倣い、私が発見し演奏するものが、皆さんの何かしらの発見に繋がれば良いなと思います。

福岡が生んだ若き鬼才、西村匠のソロユニット。2013年2人組ユニットとして結成後、米インディ・バンドDEERHOOFの前座に抜擢される。2018年9月に福岡で行われた音楽イベントASIAN PICKS内のライブオーディションにてグランプリを獲得。副賞としてアメリカ・オースティンにて2019年3月に行われるSXSWのJAPAN NITEへの出演が決定している220には新曲「two colors expressway」を配信リリース。

音楽って踊ったりとか一緒に歌ったりとかすると面白いなって今更気づきました。
リズムに合わせて体動かすとおもろいよね。
最近では福岡の音楽が熱い！ と言われていますが、福岡と音楽にはどのような関係性があるからだと思いますか？
歌を歌う前にラーメンを食べると声が出やすくなると言います。
ラーメン食べて音を鳴らす、ということの楽しさに福岡は熱くなっているのかなと思います。
『the finders 2019』に向けてメッセージをお願いします。
普段はライブハウスに来にくいような人でも足を運べそうなイベントなのでぜひ皆さんと楽しみたいです！

2000年生まれ。東京生まれ福岡育ち。高校三年生。作詞作編曲を全て自身で行う。
最近はプロデューサーとしても活動している。高校二年時の秋に作曲をはじめ、11月中旬にmini EP『momo』を発売し、Spotify、Apple Music等の配信サイト、タワレコ、HMV、TSUTAYAなどのＣＤショップを通して話題沸騰中！

『the finders 2019』ということで、あなたの最近の音楽での発見を教えてください。
最近の発見は映画「ボヘミアンラプソティー」をキッカケに映像と音楽の親和性を再発見しました。普通の映画でも無音で観るのと音楽ありで観るのとではだいぶ印象が違うなぁと感じます。
最近、福岡の音楽が熱い！ と言われているのですが、どんな福岡と音楽の関係性があるからだと思いますか？
僕自身、福岡に滞在したことがないので寡聞な知見ですが、いろんな意味でも福岡は、アジア音楽カルチャーとの距離感が近いからなのかなと思います。地理的にもそうですし、耳が早いみたいなところも。今回は僕自身、その感覚も実感したいとも思いワクワクしています！
『the finders 2019』に向けてメッセージをお願いします。
『the finders 2019』に出演できたことを光栄に思います。以前までライブすらした事もない学生でしたが、今回オーディションで選出され出演できることになり本当に嬉しく思います！ 当日は精一杯に楽しみつつ、福岡のアートカルチャーを通して何かを発見し次の活動へ繋げていけたらなと思います。

1999年生まれ、19歳。 音楽クリエイター、文筆家。
弱冠19歳ながらラッパー/トラックメーカー/ライター/フォトグラファーという様々な側面を持つ今期待のマルチクリエーター。2019年1月リリースの「シティーシティー」はSpotify、Apple Music他多数の配信サービスにて多数のプレイリストに選出された。またアーティストの枠を留まる事なく、ブロガー・文筆家としても支持を集めるokkaaa。デジタルが普遍化した世界を紐解きつつ、音楽や映画などのエンタメ系の話題も様々な切り口で執筆を行う。フォトグラファーとしては2018年12月に個展を開催。ミュージックビデオの構成や編集にとどまらずアートワークなども自身で手がけている。

A brand new art event “the finders 2019” will be held for a week from February 23rd to March 2nd.
It includes a music event “you will be found” at Fukuoka City Science Museum Science hall on the first day.
Three artists will join and they talk about their music, this event and Fukuoka.

In regard to the event title “the finders 2019”, have you made any findings about music?
I have so many. To tell one of them, I found that the music that I make and play is so tough as it can get along even with articulations which I didn’t expect. I think I had wasted some of my potentials before I noticed it.
These days they say “music in Fukuoka is hot.”
What do you think about the relationship between Fukuoka and music there?
As I’m based in Fukuoka, I’m not very sure. I wonder how people noticed music in Fukuoka, and if those who say it are people in Fukuoka, not in Fukuoka, or both.
Do you have any words for “the finders 2019?”
It is an honour to perform at a new art event. Like the name of the event “the finder 2019,” I hope that what I find and perform will lead to findings of the audience.

The solo project by Nishimura Takumi, a genius that Fukuoka has ever produced.
It was originally formed as a duo in 2013. and performed as a support act of DEERHOOF. He won the Grand Prix at an audition in the musical event ASIAN PICKS in Fukuoka in September 2018. As a supplementary prize, he got a right to perform at JAPAN NITE at SXSW in March 2019. He will release a new song “two colors expressway” on 20th February.

In regard to the event title “the finders 2019”, have you made any findings about music?
I finally realised it’s more fun to sing or dance along.
I enjoy moving my body along the rhythm.
These days they say “music in Fukuoka is hot.”
What do you think about the relationship between Fukuoka and music there?
It’s said that if you eat ramen before singing, your voice gets smoother.
The fun fact of eating ramen and making sound makes Fukuoka excited, I guess.
Do you have any words for “the finders 2019?”
I think it’s more open to people who usually don’t come to small live venues, so I’d love to enjoy with everyone!
Be prepared by eating ramen before you come!

Born in 2000, Tokyo. Grew up in Fukuoka. The last year of high school.
All the songs are written, composed and arranged by himself. These days he works as a producer as well. Starting writing songs in the autumn in the second year of high school, he released a mini EP “mono” in November 2018, and it’s become a buzz through Spotify, Apple Music, CD shops such as Tower Records, HMV and TSUTAYA.
“My favourite food is pesto and ox tongue. Pesto is the most.”

In regard to the event title “the finders 2019”, have you made any findings about music?。
I rediscovered affinity of music and video through the film “Bohemian Rhapsody” recently. Even in non-musical films, impressions are very different with music or not.
These days they say “music in Fukuoka is hot.”
What do you think about the relationship between Fukuoka and music there?
I’ve never stayed in Fukuoka so just heard of it, but Fukuoka is very close to Asian music culture in any sense. Of course geographically, but also they find new music earlier. I’m excited to feel that this time!
Do you have any words for “the finders 2019?”
It’s my pleasure to perform at “the finders 2019.” I was just a student who never played live not long time ago, but I’m very happy to be selected through the audition! I hope I can find something through the art culture in Fukuoka and it leads to my next step.

Born in 1999, 19 years old. Music creator and writer.
Despite of his age, he is a potential multi-creator with different aspects of rapper, track maker, writer and photographer. “City city” released in January 2019 has chosen to be in many playlists on Spotify or Apple Music. Beyond the frame of artist, he is supported as a blogger/writer. Understanding the world that digital becomes ordinal, he wirtes about entertainment culture such as music and movies from various perspectives. As a photographer, he held a solo exhibition in December 2018. Music videos and art works are all created by himself.

■the finders 2019
FUKUOKA ASIA ART WEEK “the finders 2019” is a brand new event organized by the public and private sectors to introduce various culture in Asia to the world and to find up-coming artists. As Fukuoka functions as a hub of the culture in Asia, the event consists of a music gig, exhibitions of artists from Taiwan and Thailand as well as Japan, and lectures by mentors leading creative and entertainment world. All the young artists are motivated to work harder through the event, and at the same time, the locals in Fukuoka are supposed to be the finders of next rising stars.
