CRJは現在札幌、福岡、東京、関西を含む全国4ヶ所を拠点に活動するカレッジチャートであり、学生中心で進められる音楽の情報発信は、他の音楽チャートとは違った視点から見た選曲であるのが特徴だ。また、各地のランキングの特色が顕著に現れるのも一つの魅力である。
今年の4月には、CRJ関西支部が発足。今後、活動拠点の拡大も検討中である。

【DENIMS】
2012年結成、大阪府堺市出身の4人組バンド。2018年には、CRJ-SAPPORO主催のイベント『SOUND WITCH vol.8』にTENDRE、The Cynical Storeと共に出演した。今回、9月16日にリリースされたミニアルバム『more local』より『I’m』が10月8日の札幌チャートで1位を獲得。自分を愛そう、というメッセージをしなやかに歌い上げるこの曲を聞けば、センチメンタルなこの季節も心地よく過ごせそうだ。

2013年、福岡で結成されたバンドSTEPHENSMITHのギターボーカル『掛 優大』がついにソロアルバムをリリース。
2016年よりiPhoneのGarageBandで制作した楽曲をコツコツとYouTubeに上げ続けて4年、膨大な楽曲の中から自身で選別した全18曲を『HOW TO LOVE』と題したソロアルバムとしてリリース。
アパートの隅で近所迷惑を気にしながら奏でる音楽を追求しているという『掛 優大』の楽曲は『HOW TO LOVE』というアルバム名からも分かるように人恋しくなるこれからの季節に必ず聴いてほしい。

【HEADLAMP】
今週のピックアップは大阪”情”ロックバンド、HEADLAMP。
今週の関西チャート1位に躍り出た彼らは、2009年に結成、2012年には未確認フェスティバルの前身となる閃光ライオットでファイナルステージまで進出。その後メンバーの交代などを挟みつつも、着実に力をつけてきている。
今回、チャートで首位を飾ったのは今年2月にリリースされた楽曲、｢2020｣。明るい曲調にピッタリな、真っ直ぐ通るVo.平井の声が刺さる1曲になっている。2018年リリースのEP｢タクトを振れ｣以降、シングルリリースが続いており、平井の声を軸に多種多様な楽曲で幅の広さを見せている。筆者のオススメは｢秘密基地｣と｢MELON FLOAT｣。あなたもぜひお気に入りの1曲を探してみてほしい。次のアルバムリリースや今後の活動に注目したい、まさに今イチオシのアーティストだ。

In 2013, guitar vocalist and vocalist Yudai Kake of the band STEPHENSMITH, which was formed in Fukuoka, finally released a solo album.
After four years of uploading songs created with the iPhone’s GarageBand to YouTube since 2016, he has released a solo album titled “How to Love” with a total of 18 songs selected by himself from a vast amount of music.
Yudai Kake’s music, which he plays in the corner of his apartment while worrying about his neighbors’ inconvenience, is a must-listen to during the coming season of human loneliness, as the album title “How to Love” suggests.

You can feel the unspoken warmth of the raps as they are laid out as if you were listening to the sound of a ball bouncing unconditionally off a wall.

【HEADLAMP】
This week’s pick is the Osaka ”emotional” rock band, HEADLAMP.
They formed in 2009, who jumped to No. 1 on the Kansai charts this week, and made it all the way to the final stage in 2012 with “Senkou Riot”, the forerunner of “Mikakuninn Festival”. Since then, they’ve made steady progress with a change of members.
The song “2020,” released in February of this year, topped the charts this time. Since EP “Shake the Tact” released in 2018, they have been releasing a series of singles with Hirai’s voice at the center of a wide variety of songs, showing the breadth of their range. I highly recommend “Secret Base” and “MELON FLOAT” , and I hope you’ll try to find your favorite song as well. They are a highly recommended artist for the release of their next album and future activities.
