CRJは現在札幌、福岡、東京、関西を含む全国4ヶ所を拠点に活動するカレッジチャートであり、学生中心で進められる音楽の情報発信は、他の音楽チャートとは違った視点から見た選曲であるのが特徴だ。また、各地のランキングの特色が顕著に現れるのも一つの魅力である。
今年の4月には、CRJ関西支部が発足。今後、活動拠点の拡大も検討中である。

【キイチビール&ザ・ホーリーティッツ】
2016年4月始動、東京の5人組ロックバンド。現在、キイチビール(村上貴一)が活動を休止しており、コーラスのKDがソングライティング/ボーカル/ギターを務める4人体制で邁進中。
5月13日に配信リリースされたシングル『妄想デート / オールドな輝きの』より『妄想デート』が札幌チャートでロングヒットし、7月2日付チャートでは8位にランクインした。70年代のシティポップを思わせる甘酸っぱさがありながら、今の世の中にも呼応する“スーパー脳内デートソング”となっている。

【Faded old city】
2013年に結成された奈良出身のインディーロックバンド『Faded old city』（フェイデッドオールドシティー)。
メンバー全員が複数の楽器機材を担当、シンセサイザーやサンプラーなども多用し、
ロックバンドでありながらエレクトロニカを昇華しポップフィールドにもアプローチしていくスタイルで活動している。
8月にリリースされる『First – EP』から先行配信された『Patchwork』では
HIPHOPの要素を取り入れながらあくまでバンドで演奏することをイメージし、
短い曲尺で潔さを表現しているという。
立体感のある音が脳内に響き渡る感覚が忘れられなくなる楽曲だ。
音源ではミニマムな音表現を、ライブではさらに身体的かつ躍動的なアプローチが加わる。
様々なルーツを持ち、異なる要素を包括するが、それを織り交ぜ、独自の音体験を追求している。
アートワーク、ミュージックビデオなど作品の全ては一貫してセルフプロデュースを行っている。

6月最後のピックアップアーティストは2017年から京都を拠点に活動している
「浪漫革命」
音楽はいつだって黎明期と信じ、結成後様々なフェスに参加しながらコンスタントに作品世に送り出している。
今回チャート1位にランクインした楽曲「あんなつぁ」は、楽曲とマッチした短編映画のようなMVが話題となった、これからの季節にぜひ聴いていただきたい一曲だ。
来月22日発売の2ndアルバム「ROMANTIC LOVE」に収録されており、10月からは東名阪ツアーと初のワンマンライブを予定している。
ソウルやファンク、サーフミュージックの要素を取り込んだ愉快でファンキーな音楽性と、レトロな風合いのサウンドは、聴き手にあたたかい気持ちを思い出させてくれる力を確かに備えている。

【Kiichi Beer& the holy tic】
Started in April in 2016, a five piece rock band from Tokyo. As Kiichi Beer( Kiichi Murakami) is currently on hiatus, four members, including KD(chorus), who plays roles as a songwriter, a vocal, and a guitar are working hard. On their single “mousou(imaginary) date/ old shining”, which was released on May 13th, “mousou(imaginary) date” has been a blockbuster for a while in Sapporo chart, and it ranked 8th as of July 2nd. While it has a bittersweet taste which reminds you of the 70’s city pop, it is “the super delusional date song” which corresponds with the society we are living in now.

【faded old city】
An indie rock band formed in 2013 in Kyoto, “Faded old city”.
Everyone in the band handles more than one musical device. With the use of a synthesizer and a sampler, they are a rock band that leaps beyond electronica to the pop field.
In “Patch work” on “first – EP”, which will be released in August, they have incorporated hip hop elements while they still imagined playing it as a band. They describe the song’s clarity with its short length. The song makes you not forget the three-dimensional sound echoing in your head. Their minimal sound is performed with physical and dynamic approaches in their live shows.
Having multiple roots and comprehending different elements, the mixture of them pursues a unique sound experiment. All the work including artwork and music videos is self-produced by the band.

The last pickup artist in June is ”Roman-Revolution” which has been based in Kyoto since 2017.After their formation, they are constantly sending their works to the world while participating in various festivals with the belief that Music is always at the dawn.”Annatsua” that ranked number one on the chart this time is a song that you should listen to in the coming season.Please check the collaboration of the song and music video like a short films.
This song is included in their 2nd album “ROMANTIC LOVE” to be released on 22nd of July. They’ll begin the tour of Tokyo, Nagoya,Osaka and the first one-man live in October.The amusing and funky music that incorporates the elements of soul, funk and surf music, as well as the retro sound, certainly has the power to remind the listener of warm feelings.
