Shibuya, 0AM.
At the famous crossing surrounded by adverts, lots of people still can be seen at this time.
In such a town, the sound of wave echoes for an hour.

This video work was originally exhibited at Times Square in New York.
This is titled “Voir La Mer”, showing the first time of the people who have never seen the sea in Istanbul viewing it.
The sound of cars, people talking, music from shops are all mixed with the waves,
and the view that people there looking up the 4 electronic billboards is never seen before.

Shibuya crossing, 2019/2/3-2/9 midnight to 1AM.
The installation is sponsored by BizReach, a leading HR tech company that embraces the power of design in business and actively supports creators. The video is produced by NION, a film, content and arts production positioned to enliven the industry, led by producer Takayuki Moriya.

Along with this iconic installation, Sophie Calle holds three solo exhibitions in Tokyo.
For the past forty years, her work has blended the written word, the photographic image, performance, video, in an ongoing to and from between the narrative and the real, the private and the public. Sophie Calle narrates herself through texts, photographs, objects – elements that act as supports for these stories and that contribute to the development of an individual mythology.

In Roppongi, at PERROTIN Tokyo, “Ma mère, mon chat, mon père, dans cet ordre” is held.
From her series called “Autobiographies”, it shows her recent work since 2012 to 2018.
This is related to her own mother, father and cat, who passed away these years,
and she expresses her very personal experience, losing someone you love most, by decorated texts and photography.
