WORLDWIDE SESSION 2016 に参加する次世代JAZZバンドSOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONSに注目

ジャズにロック・クラブミュージックを取り入れ、その上ファッションという音楽とは別の表現方法を取り入れているSOIL AND “PIMP” SESSIONSという次世代ジャズ先端を走っているバンド にWOOLYは 注目した。

ジャズの典型的なフォームにとらわれず、現代のPOPカルチャーをどこか取り入れたファンキーでかつエネルギッシュなバイブをどこか感じるさせるバンド。

SOIL & PIMPS SESSIONSにフォーカスするにあたってファッションに注目しないわけにはいかない。彼らのユニークなファッションは見る人の心を奪い、独創的な表現方法をしている。言葉で表現するならまさに『アバンギャルド』がぴったりだろう。アバンドギャンドな刺激的でなおかつストリートの要素の入った洗礼されたファッションはもはやアートに近い気もする。

本来のジャズのイメージを容易に覆すエネジェティックなリズムと外見・ファッションスタイルは見ているこちらの心を踊らされる 。ジャズ、そしてファッションという２つの異なるアートを楽しみ、見るものを魅了し続けるSOIL & PIMPS SESSIONS。そんな彼らから今度とも目が離せない。

丈青本名：佐藤丈青（ピアノ・キーボード）
秋田ゴールドマン本名：秋田紀彰（ウッドベース）
みどりん本名：緑川直人（ドラム）

椎名林檎・一青窈などの有名アーティストと共演、２０１２年に小泉今日子楽曲提供＆プロデュースした。
２０１６年４月６日にはニューアルバム「BLACK TRACK」をリリース。

SOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONS is a band leading the new generation of Jazz with its unique in cooperation of dissimilar genres such as Rock and Club music style to the Jazz, together with the usage of fashion as another tool of expression.

Playing Sachs with formal shirt and a tie on the stage flooded with light.
This could be a stereotypical view of Jazz artists for some people.
However, for those who are having such perspective, SOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONS could possibly be a band to change this stereotype.

Although they are a part of the Jazz genre, they are not restricted to be in this form in a way by remitting energetic vibes; they seem to include the POP culture and funk in their Jazz.

We cannot talk about SOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONS without talking about their unique fashion style. “Avant-grade” could be the word when best describing them. The Avant-grade and street style fashion creates a form in which we can almost classify it as a form of art.

It certainly changes the image of Jazz within us, with their lively rhythm and fashion style, unconsciously making us dance.

This May before the early summer with the refreshing weather and spanking breeze, such band’s unique music shall be echoing in the air.
Their fully expressed enjoyment will defiantly attract the audience and make us want to dance to the beat.
