The teachers for this time was the chief editor of NYLON, Takashi Togawa who is from Nagasaki, and the founder of Shikumi Design Co., Ltd. and the teacher of Kyushu Kogyo University, Shunsuke Nakamura, and the president of Hoxton College and the publisher of Wooly, Masato Tsuruta who is from Fukuoka. The tickets had been sold out soon at the beginning by the news that the Kyushu’s professional creators from the various fields, mass media, information technology and music would join. This theme is “The five things that the professional creators practice to lead fulfilled life〜Stop job hunting, and become a professional〜”, which made the majority of the audience student.

The first speaker, Mr. Tsuruta showed the three secret “S”, “Speed up”, “Speak up”, and “Serendipity”, with telling the episodes that he experienced when he was a college student. He said that it’s important to switch student time into creator time, report what you were doing and where you were, and find someone who you aim to become and mentor. And the students were nodding in agreement to what everyone could carry on at that moment.

The second speaker, Mr. Nakamura showed his work of digital instrument and digital art during the lecture, and it made the audience burst out laughing, while he seriously said that the important thing is not to say “I can do everything” but to say “I can do 〜.” The most impressive words in his speech were “Enjoyable things reach to enjoyable person”.

The last speaker, Mr. Togawa taught that they have to do “self-branding” rather than self-analyzing, and that the winner is not those who think hard but those who put any idea into action”. Furthermore, he talked about realistic topic, which he told to enjoy your routine work and know how to use EXCEL in order to consider everything as business, which made the students think their ideal work in terms of business.

In the last session, the three creators from Kyushu chatted about three theme, “local connection”, “local employment”, and “Localism”. And they gave advices and ideas about where is the best place to work.

And we had a casual meeting that was special content for thins event, where the students had opportunity to talk with the favorite teachers directly and had some questions to them. At that time, the students’ tensions seemed to be all gone, and they had their questions and appealed to the teachers.

We believe that we gave the students, who worried about their future and job hunting and were thinking what they should do, hints to lead fulfilled life, and gave opportunity to start thinking over what is the best job and place for them. We want to say thank all of you who joined in this Hoxton College and say you can look forward to seeing who is the next teacher of Hoxton College.
