The group exhibition which is composed by three Japanese artists will be held at CLEAR EDITION & GALLERY, Roppongi, Tokyo.

This exhibition is named “1974”. This is named after the year when the three artists, Ken Kagami, MADSAKI, Joji Nakamura were born.

1974 that sees a decade having passed since Tokyo Olympics was held, in those days, there’re a lot of indications that tells the great prosperity is coming here and there in Japan. Born in such a year, the babies weren’t promised successful day and steady job. It is because that the terrible deflation had come when they matured to start their job huntings.
If they were one of the “ordinary” Japaneae, this exhibition couldn’t be full of entertainment. What is interesting is that these three artists have very different and unique backgrounds.

Sir Kagami started his career as an artist after backing to Japan from San Francisco. What makes him apart from boring and normal artists is that he has an experience of assistance under a fashion stylist. He is so talented in the various fields; drawing, performing and any kind of installations.
MADSAKI was born in Japan but raised in US. She graduated from Parsons School of Design. In a part of his life, he have worked as a bisexual messenger. Recently he mainly launched his art works with kind of like a message which is including satirical taste.
Because of such a feature of his works, he is distinguished among conservative Japanese artists.
Joji Nakmura has also a different background as an artist. When he was in Santa Barbara, US, he met some friends who has artistic feeling. Soon after backing to Japan, he started art-work job. He is collaborating with music bands or publishing companies. In this point, he is a little bit different from the other two artists.

These three artists is standing on the turning point in their lifetimes. There are full of expectations that what such distinguished artists will show us should be also distinguished.
